I was trying to install the windows 8 on my laptop, so thought this will be helpful for everyone if you decide to install on your laptop to test windows 8.
Step 5: Click on 'USB Device' option.
Step 6: Choose the USB drive that you need to use, make sure you have backed up any files you have in it.
All you need is, at least 4GB USB stick and internet connection to download the ISO image of the Windows 8 preview version
Prerequisite:
- Download the ISO from http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows-8/download
- Download the USB boot creator http://images2.store.microsoft.com/prod/clustera/framework/w7udt/1.0/en-us/Windows7-USB-DVD-tool.exe
- Download Image Mastering API v 2.0 from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17073
Step 1: Try to install USB boot creator, if it is asking you to install the Image mastering API then go ahead and install Image mastering first.
Step 2: Now install the USB boot creator, just follow the installation wizard, which is straight forward.
Step 3: Open the USB boot creator tool.
Step4: Locate the ISO image
Step 5: Click on 'USB Device' option.
Step 7: This will take like good 3-4 mins, once completed all you need to do is, leave the USB connected to the laptop that you need to install and reboot.
Step 8: Go to BIOS setting and change the boot option to USB drive. Save the BIOS and reboot your laptop again.
Step 9 Now the Windows installation screen will load up and continue the set up as you do for any other windows OS installation .
Step 10: The installation may fail if your hard ware is not completable for this OS, so make sure you check the hardware requirement before you start, from the windows 8 download page http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows-8/download .
